Hollimans Limited, with stores in Townsville, Charters Towers and Ravenswood, were furniture and hardware specialists as well as grocery, household goods and mining and farming suppliers. Hollimans imported fine silverware, china, glassware, etc. from countries such as Great Britain, the US, Germany, Belgium, Austria, France, Sweden, Italy and Japan. The "Thorps Buildings" were built for the Hollimans premises in 1905 and 1906 in Ravenswood, which was once a thriving gold mining town of 5000.
