Wool Dumping is a process by which wool bales are compressed into a smaller package size - a dumped unit - such that more bales can fit into a container. The Cleveland Bay Wool Dumping Company was set up in the White Shed, premises leased from the Harbour Board. The local company which was established in 1922 provided growers with a more direct route to overseas markets. The company was active up until the 1950's.
