Summary

Originally envisaged as a series of informal taped interviews, this book provides an eye witness account of the early days of social work practice in northeastern Australia. It describes the beginnings of interventions by welfare professionals, dating from the 1940s, targeted at enhancing client, group and community life in North Queensland.
